Easy Way To Quit Smoking - Stop Making Love To It

Are there any easy way to quit smoking?

Probably not.

If there was an easy way to quit smoking, there will be not one smoke related deaths, no tobacco companies, and the world will be a better place.

Everyone knows that smoking is a major cause of lung cancer, other types of cancer, heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and other health problems, and yet people still find it hard to quit smoking or find it easy to start smoking for various reasons.

Furthermore, smokers are aware of the financial impact smoking has on their wallets.

Then why do millions of people still smoke?

The answer is nicotine. Nicotine is the addictive drug in tobacco, and like any drugs, regular use of tobacco leads to addiction. With addiction, it feeds on the persons needs for physical and psychological dependence on the drug.

That is why smokers mentally believe smoking helps them relax and give them that satisfaction, a quick fix.

Therefore, for most smokers there is no easy way to quit smoking.

It is that psychological or emotional attachment smokers have with smoking.

If you are a smoker looking to quit now, think of the best approach, or your own easy way to quit smoking.

Here's one form of an easy way to quit smoking (if any)-

1) Motivate yourself by looking at the anecdotal evidence of the health effects of smoking. The harmful effects of smoking are great reasons to stop smoking.

2) Make an honest review of all the likes and dislikes from smoking, and how it effects your life, work, family, etc.

Devote an effort to question yourself on each positive impact smoking has on your life. Does it really fulfill your long term need?

Review the list over time, and make any necessary changes to the positive and negative impacts.

As well, invite family and friends to share their thoughts and give negative feedback about your smoking habit.

3) Write all the reasons to quit.

4) Make a detailed list of why there is no easy way to quit smoking.

You have to motivate and prepare yourself for what is required of you to quit, and that there is no easy way to quit smoking.

The more you list out and anticipate the obstacles of quitting smoking, and their solutions, the higher your chances of success. For example, 'smoking helps me to relax during stressful periods'. A solution would be to visit the gym or pursue a leisure activity you personally enjoy.

This will give you an easy way to quit smoking.

5) Set a quit date!

Once you combat the validity to quit smoking, then it is now or never.

If you really desire an easy way to quit smoking, then you must overcome your psychological and physical needs of smoking. Start listing all the effects smoking has on your life, question it and focus on beating the addictive habit.

90% of lung cancer occurs in those who have smoked. Want to REALLY quit smoking this time?

It's Never Too Late To Quit Smoking

Try and try again?till you succeed. This is the mantra of quit smoking success. Most of the people, who were successful in this difficult endeavor, are actually the ones who made it in their third or fourth attempt. So, if you have failed in your first or second attempt, don?t lose hope, just plan your next attempt, and go for it. Even if you fail to quit completely, you will find that the number of cigarettes you smoke have decreased considerably. This time, when you plan to quit, make sure that you consider the following points to ensure success.

  • Make a list of reasons: Why are you quitting smoke?
  • Consider the money you spend on cigarettes. Main brand cigarettes now cost almost ?5.00 for a packet of 20.
  • Set a quit date? people make a New Year?s Day resolution, others pick their birthday, and also the No Smoking Day - the second Wednesday of every March on which a million smokers have a go. In fact, any day will do, but choosing a date will help mental preparation.
  • Deal with nicotine withdrawal, this is a powerful addictive, so you need to be ready to fight with it. Ask your doctor for Chantix, which is a good medicine that can help you get over your nicotine cravings.
  • Involve your family and friends, it has been found that if you find someone who also wishes to quit, it becomes easier for you to quit smoking.
  • Find a substitute habit? smoking involves your hands and mouth, this is part of the smoking habit, you may need to deal with it. You can handle it by using chewing gum, drink more water, fruit juice or tea, or to chew or eat something
  • Learn to avoid temptation? during the difficult first few days you can change your routine to avoid situations where you would generally smoke. For example, it might be worth avoiding the pub on the first Friday night after you quit.
  • If you can?t stop immediately, consider cutting down with NRT? Simply cutting down without setting a target to stop completely rarely works as consumption tends to rise again over time. However, new research shows that smokers, who cut down and use new treatments like Chantix, increase their chances of quit smoking.
  • Be careful for relapse? You need to be on guard especially in the first few days and weeks. "I'll have just one, it can't harm" is the top of a long and slippery slope. If you are upset or under pressure, it is really important to fight off the temptation to smoke ? don?t let this be an excuse for slipping back. You could lose everything you've achieved just in a momentary lapse!
So, next time you plan quitting smoke, keep the above mentioned tips in your mind. Give an honest try this time?I know you will succeed! All the best!

Quit Smoking with Exercise

There is an overload of available pills and potions to help you Quit Smoking. If you are really determined to do it, exercise may be your answer, and it's free of charge too! A healthy diet, and exercise will have you on the road to recovering from your addiction.

Whenever you feel cravings for cigarettes, you can become irritable, angry, depressed and obsessed with thoughts of smoking. You can turn into someone stuck in a bad mood and unable to see your way clear unless you give in and back step by having a cigarette. You need to get through the tough times and they will become fewer and farther between. Think of yourself like seeds planted by a farmer. He waits impatiently for the seeds to sprout, and then one day just as they are about to poke the tip of their first leaf out for the sun, he gives up and rakes over the patch. Sometime when we think we can't wait any longer or last any longer, and that is exactly the time there is going to be a major breakthrough if you just hang in there.

Exercise is the answer to quitting smoking for so many reasons. It raises endorphins and increases oxygen to the blood, two things smokers are lacking during withdrawals. No matter how bad you are feeling, if you sweat it out for a while or even just go for a brisk walk, you will have a new perspective and fresh lease on life.

Every time you overcome and get through cravings, you will feel a sense of achievement and satisfaction. Don't ever look at smoking as a reward for doing well, as this is just a way the addiction will try to trick you into having another cigarette. Every time you catch yourself thinking about smoking and it is possible for you to exercise, then do it! You will improve fitness, feel much happier than ever before and will also introduce a new and positive habit in place of an old negative one.

When you start a new exercise regime, you automatically feel like a new person. You will be sweating more so you will clear nasty nicotine toxins from your body rapidly. The extra oxygen intake will assist your lungs in cleaning and clearing, and your overall energy levels will increase. Your skin will look healthier and you will feel more outgoing. This will give you the desire and energy to do other things that will also contribute to you creating your new life away from addictions.

You will also start to look different to others. A combination of quitting smoking and starting to exercise will make anyone who knows you notice your new found sparkle. When someone makes a change like quitting smoking, it is obvious to everyone something is going on that is working for you.

Chantix: The New Quit Smoking Aid that Makes You Dislike the Effects of Nicotine

What is the most painful quit smoking challenge? Of course an honest answer to this would be controlling the uncontrollable CRAVINGS. Would you quit smoking if you come to know that you can easily handle those cravings? I guess your answer will be a ?Yes?, because you know somewhere deep inside your heart that your smoking habit can only yield you bad health conditions and take you closer to death. Every smoker, in some point of life, tries to get rid of his smoking habit, but we all know, it is a task, easier said than done. Blame it on nicotine and its effects on brain.

The kick of nicotine gives you a thrilling pleasure making you a slave, and this is the reason behind your addiction to smoking. Just like any drug addict, you keep on increasing the number of cigarettes to get the same level of pleasure. Your will power has to be very strong if you decide to bid this addiction good bye. But, fighting with the cravings and withdrawal is indeed not a matter of joke. After all, who likes coming closer to a diseased life and painful death with every fag of tobacco?

What if you stop enjoying the nicotine kick after kissing your beloved Cigarette? Does that sound impossible? Do you think nicotine can never cheat you on drawing the momentary pleasure from it? It will definitely cheat if you seek Chantix medication. Varenicline, the main ingredient of Chantix is a component that has the capacity to influence the brain receptor cells and give you similar pleasure like nicotine. Chantix competes with the amount of pleasure you get from nicotine, by getting attached to the a4?2 neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors with high intensity. As a result you do not feel like smoking and get over your withdrawal very soon.

The Food and Drug Administration of America approved Chantix as a smoking cessation medicine on 11 May, 2006 for its notable potential to help smokers in quitting smoke. Hitting the nicotine kick is hitting the bull?s eye! If you do not enjoy smoking why will you smoke then? Obviously the thrilling kick was the sole reason for being in love with cigarette for so many years. If that feel-good factor is no more there, then I bet you will cheat on your steady relationship with tobacco. Right isn?t it?

Smokers! Tighten your belts and stand up! It is time to put your shattered will-power together and try hard with new enthusiasm. Chantix is there for you to save you from your smoking cravings and withdrawal effects. Come on and join a smoke free world! We, the non-smoking people are waiting for you this side!

FAQ: How Do I Quit Smoking?

How do I quit smoking? For good and forever? That was the question I was always asking myself, but could never find the answer. It was a real question - not theory, not wishful thinking - to me it was life or death.

As a former smoker of 3 packs a day, I lived with constant fear that

- I would die a long painful, self inflicted death
- I wouldn?t see my kids get married
- I wouldn?t ever meet my grandchildren
- I would leave my wife struggling to raise 4 children on her own
- My kids would ask my ?Why didn?t you just stop??

I was living a life of deceit, regret, fear and paranoia ? and it was all my fault.

My wife would always be on my back about quitting smoking. I tried just about every method I could afford but never lasted the course. I became an expert in quitting smoking, but would still be found in the back yard, in all weathers drawing on those horrible cancer sticks.

In fact, I was very good at quitting smoking. Most nights I would put out my last cigarette before turning in and would boldly declare ? ?Right, that was my last one?.

But, each morning I would wake up, put on a pot of coffee and light up my first of 60 straight away. You see I was good at quitting ? I did it every day. The question I couldn?t answer was ?How do I quit smoking and stay quit??

Before I explain what works let me tell you what I tried and my experiences

1. Patches ? I had my highest success rate with patches - all of 27 hours. But, they were expensive, kept coming off (I used to sweat a lot when I was smoking). The real downside was they only dealt with the physical habit, not the mental one. 2. Gum ? This was close to useless ? it tasted nasty, burned my gums and made my breathe smell (just as bad as it did when I was smoking). 3. Acupuncture ? I didn?t try that one ? it was more expensive than hypnotherapy and I had heard the results where not as good. 4. Inhalers ? They just didn?t produce the kick at the back of the throat I was used to, and so was a very lame replacement ? plus, I just felt stupid using it. 5. Will Power ? This was the hardest. I tried quitting smoking with no help physically or mentally. I was grouchy with my wife and the kids and couldn?t think about anything else.

So, there?s my list of failures when trying to quit smoking. So what worked? How did I answer that illusive question ?How do I quit smoking?and stay quit.?

Well, the secret lay in the relationship between dealing with your physical addiction and your mental one. It was only when I realized and believed that my addiction was only a tiny bit in my body, but mostly in my head that I started to approach quitting with the right attitude. I didn?t need the support of pills, patches or gums ? I started to see through the cynical money making stop smoking industry ? I finally understood I needed help and support in my mind and I found where to get that support.

5 Great Health Benefits Of Quitting Smoking

If you?re a smoking thinking of quitting then the chances are you?ve been thinking about quitting for a long time but not actually doing the quitting. Most ex-smokers I know took a long time to make the decision to quit. Sure, they wanted to quit for a long time but they couldn?t quite bring themselves to put out their last cigarette.

You might find yourself in this situation right now. There are many benefits to putting out your last cigarette. I?ll mention some of the health benefits in a moment but fist consider these:

Financial ? smoking is expensive. Many of the quit smoking sites have a cigarette calculator so you can see just how much your spending every year.

Emotional ? if you want to quit you may feel guilt or down on yourself because you haven?t quit yet. By quitting you relieve yourself of this emotional burden. Plus, you prove to yourself you have the drive and determination to succeed.

Social ? you won?t smell like an ashtray and neither will your clothes! You won?t have to go out side (maybe in the cold) to smoke and you can help others to quit.

These are all great reasons to quit but the biggest benefit benefits are your body and they start almost instantly.

If you stop smoking right now your body will start to feel the benefits within as little as 20 minutes as your heart rate drops.

After 24 hours of stopping smoking the carbon monoxide in your blood will have gone. Carbon monoxide reduces the blood?s ability to carry oxygen (by combining with red blood cells more readily than oxygen) as a result after stopping you will get more oxygen to your lungs and breathing will become easier.

After 72 hours nicotine will have been flushed from the body. Result: Things taste better and smell improves. (Damaged nerve endings are starting to regrow.)

All the while your circulation will be improving and the efficiency of your lungs will increase reducing wheezing and breathing problems.

One year on from your decision to quit your risk of a heart attack is half of what it used to be before you stopped.

As you can see the positive effect of quitting start almost immediately! Take action now to stop smoking and save your life.

How Falling In Love Can Make You Quit Smoking!

My grandfather told me this story when I was very young and I still remember it to this day for it is such a beautiful story about love and how it can help you get rid of an addiction, specially smoking addiction.

When my grandfather was about 11 or 12 years old, growing up in the Caribbean, he picked up this nasty habit of smoking. He started smoking with friends as it was something that almost everybody did. I don't think there was any law regarding the sale of cigarettes to children. As a matter of fact, the way these boys picked up smoking was from going to the stores to buy cigarettes for their uncles or stepdads.

The store owners would never think twice about asking for ID before they sell cigarettes to minors. As I said before, it was okay to sell cigarettes to kids and consequently these kids started smoking at a very early age.

So my grandfather smoked and his mother smoked and likely the rest of the household smoked too. My grandfather's name was Oscar. By the time Oscar turned 17 he already had been smoking for quite a few years now and also drinking occasionally. I do remember that he said that he never smoked nor drink in front of his mom.

In these days, they used to have social dances on weekends and with those social dances comes good homemade food, homemade cakes and ice cream and of course girls. The girls at that time would not go out alone, they would always be accompanied by their parents or guardians at all social events.

Even though a lots of the kids, boys mostly, smoked, it wasn't proper to smoke at social gatherings, specially if you were a kid. As a matter of fact, it was frown upon as a parent to have a son who was a known smoker. The boys still smoked nonetheless, because it was seen as being macho. After all, the tough actors in the movies smoked, therefore the kids thought that they would look good and handsome to the girls if they smoked.

Oscar at one of these social gatherings have met a young girl who was about 2 years older than he was. Being that the society wasn't as liberal as it is today, meeting a young girl at a dance, rather seeing a young girl at a dance and starting to entertain the thought that she was pleasing to the eye and perhaps the only thing he could do about it was to have a dance together, meaning everybody is involved in the dance. No decadent moves like the kids do nowadays.

Anyway, I was saying, Oscar had seen Marie, the girl at the dance and he felt something for her. The thing that can be described as the beginning of love. Before long, he was writing her letters and telling her how he feels good when he sees her and wanted to know if she felt the same way about him.

Her response was rather vague. She liked to see him as well but there was something about him that she wasn't fond of. She would not tell him what it was. She thought that if a young man smoked, that young man ought to have enough savvy to pick up on subtle little hints from girls. Women can be so complex and sophisticated, Oscar used to say, it takes a long time to begin to know a woman or to know what a woman wants.

Oscar could feel that Marie wasn't head over heel about him, therefore he started to change his habits to see if that would turn things around. First he changed the way he dressed, then the way he walked and the choice of words in his letters. All the while he was still smoking with his friends and see himself as somekind of a cool guy who enjoyed smoking.

The feeling he felt for Marie was getting stronger everytime he saw her. For the life of him, he couldn't see why Marie wasn't falling for him the same way he was for her. That started to drive him crazy and made him smoke even more.

What started as perhaps 5 or 6 cigarettes a day quickly turned into 20 to 25 cigarettes a day. Now all he could think of was Marie and the more he thought about her the more he smoked. What can I do to make her fall crazily in love with me? He thought.

By then, Marie had moved away to go to college and only came back to town every second weekend or so. Oscar was really feeling the agonizing pain of slowly losing his girl. What if she falls in love with another guy at college? All these thoughts would keep him up at night.

Finally one day a letter came from Marie saying that she has decided to move for good to that other city where she would find some work after college. She also told him that she could no longer bear the thought of falling in love with someone who may die from smoke related illness. You see, her mom had died two years earlier from smoke related illness due to her smoking one pack of cigarette a day for the last 25 years.

When Oscar found out that it was smoking that kept her from falling in love with him he instantly developed a deep hatred for cigarettes and anything that looked like cigarette. He later joined a group fighting against the sale of cigarettes to minors and also became an advocate for a smoke free world. He was still involved with the group when he died 16 years ago.

Quit Smoking Issues: Secret Ingredients in Your Cigarette

Did you know? Over 4000 chemical compounds are created by burning a cigarette and most of which are toxic as well as carcinogenic. Among 4000 chemicals in tobacco, there are 100 identified poisons and 63 known drugs which cause cancer! The most talked about drug in tobacco is nicotine which is a vasoconstrictor and a nerve toxin, it has been classified as a class I insecticide. Other poisons included in tobacco are Arsenic, Cyanide, Formaldehyde which is used to embalm bodies, Ammonia Bromide, a toilet cleaner.

Does the above information make any difference to you as a smoker? I don't know how you feel, but I had a crawling sensation down my spine when I was going through the facts. Perhaps you are not aware of the consequences of smoking, may be that's why you are least bothered when I said that tobacco has 100 identified poisons. Don't think I am na?ve, I understand that quit smoking is not an easy job. You need motivation to stop smoking and get ready for the withdrawal effects.

While there are medicines like Chantix to take care of your withdrawal effects, I will try to give you reasons as to why you should stop smoking.

Let me tell you that it took more than three years to prepare The 2004 Surgeon General's Report on the Health Consequences of Smoking by 19 of the country's top scientists, doctors, and public health experts. And the full report is nearly 1,000 pages long! Gosh... They must have found uncountable consequences of smoking, so it took so long and so many pages to complete. The major findings were divided into four parts;

? Smoking tobacco harms almost every organ of human body, resulting in many diseases and effecting adversely to the overall heath of smokers. ? Smoking cessation has instant as well as long-standing benefits by dropping risk factors for diseases caused by smoking and improving overall health. ? Cigarettes that have machine-measured yield of tar and nicotine do not have actual health benefit. ? The report has added to thee list of diseases previously known to be caused by smoking, including bladder, esophageal, laryngeal, lung, oral, and throat cancers, chronic lung diseases, coronary heart and cardiovascular diseases, as well as reproductive effects and sudden infant death syndrome. The list has been long-drawn-out to include acute myeloid leukemia, abdominal aortic aneurysm, cataract, kidney cancer, pancreatic cancer, cervical cancer, pneumonia, stomach cancer, and periodontitis.

Should I look thunderstruck? Truly speaking, right now I am feeling a chill all over my body. Planning To Quit Smoking

Millions of people smoke, and to many, particularly those that have been smoking for some time, the prospect of quitting seems daunting. An addiction to nicotine is a serious one, and is multifaceted: there is a physical component, in that your body craves the nicotine the cigarettes contain, and a psychological one, in that many habits and situations become associated with cigarettes for the smoker. For these reasons it is important that you come up with a plan of attack in order to quit smoking: although the cold-turkey technique works for some people, the vast majority of smokers will have success only with a more comprehensive plan.

When you first consider the prospect of quitting smoking, it's probably going to seem far fetched, but keep in mind that thousands of people - people that are no different from you - quit smoking every year. If they can do it, there's no reason that you can't. Many smokers also feel that after a certain age it is "too-late" to quit smoking. Simply put, this isn't true, and should not be used as an excuse to avoid an attempt to quit smoking: the health benefits of quitting smoking begin the very day you stop.

Before you actually have your last cigarette, begin to build up your willpower. Your willpower is going to be your most important tool in quitting, and it's very unlikely that you will be successful without it. Spend some time thinking of the reasons you want to quit smoking. Learn about the health benefits of quitting, for both yourself and the people around you. Do some math and come up with some figures for the amount of money you'll save by not buying cigarettes, and think of something you'll use that money for.

Once you've built up your willpower, it's time to have your last cigarette. To keep your spirits up, understand that the human body is incredibly resilient, and your health will improve as soon as you stop smoking - literally. 8 hours after your last cigarette, carbon monoxide levels and oxygen levels in your blood stream will return to normal. At 24 hours after your last cigarette, you statistically reduce your chance of a heart attack. Only 48 hours after your last cigarette, your sense of taste and smell will improve as your nerve endings start growing.

As you continue to stay smoke free, think of the longer-term benefits to quitting in order to keep your willpower up: even after 2 weeks your lung power will begin to increase, and continue to do so over time. Other aspects of your health will continue to improve in various ways. The ultimate motivator should be the knowledge that 15 years after quitting, your risk of death is almost the same as someone who has never smoked - a remarkable fact that illustrates our the human body's surprising ability to restore itself.

By coming up with a concrete plan to quit smoking you will greatly increase your chances of success. Crucial is understanding the important role that your willpower will play in the process, and planning to build up this willpower weeks before you attempt to quit. Once you've stopped you have to keep the strength of this willpower up, and to do so, remind yourself of the health benefits you will be privy to immediately after butting out that last cigarette.

New Years Resolutions - Dieting - Quit Smoking - Getting Out Of Debt

Okay it is almost that time of year again when we make those promises to ourselves and our loved ones. I know one of the main resolutions is to lose weight and get in shape.

We will be bombarded very soon with infomercial ads promising all kinds of diet programs and exercise equipment. These infomercials will promise to reshape your body and improve your health.

You will see diet ads designed for both men and women. You can have meals, snack and desserts delivered right to your door. Drink your meals and take nutritional pills. Which commercial will motivate you this year?

It is always amazing to see the health clubs packed the first week in January And then within a few weeks the attendance drastically goes down except for those die hard committed people. Good for you. I wish I had your dedication. With any luck if you are really committed this year you will be one of those who do stick to their New Years Resolution. I am hoping this year to stay committed. Get in shape, eat healthy and appreciate more my family and friends.

What are some other top resolutions? How about quit smoking? When cigarettes first came out how come it was not realized right from the start how bad they were for you. Inhaling smoke??? It took years before they put the warnings of lung cancer on the packages. If this is one of your resolutions I wish you the best. It is a very tough addition to break. But at least now days there are a ton of ways to help you kick your habit. You have to find what works for you and go for it. Good luck!

How about getting out of debt? Wouldn't everyone want to do this? Not having enough money to pay your bills is an awful feeling. You do have to be careful of those get rich quick schemes. Work hard and do you best. Ask yourself this when you buy something, "Do I really need this? Or do I just want it?" I know, easier said then done.

Well what ever your resolution is I hope you are able to follow through and I am sure going to give it a valiant effort myself

Have a Great New Year!!!
